Maico Hearing Aid Service has been an established business in the Syracuse area for nearly 50 years. Originally located in downtown Syracuse for about 36 years, we have been in Liverpool since April 1993. We are proud to be part of this great community and to help provide education about hearing health and hearing aid services.

We are committed to providing knowledge and understanding of hearing loss. Our staff genuinely cares for our patients and provides personalized testing and counseling required for a successful experience using hearing instruments.

Meet Our Providers

Lisa Thomas, Au.D., CCC-A

Lisa Thomas, Au.D., CCC-A, is a New York State licensed audiologist and registered hearing aid dispenser. She received her bachelor’s degree and clinical doctorate of audiology at Syracuse University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Lisa began her career with Maico in January 2010.

Crystal Thomas, NYSHAD

Crystal Thomas, NYSHAD received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport in English with a concentration in childhood education in 2005. She began her career at Maico Hearing Aid Service in October of 2011 as a trainee and passed her licensing exams to become an NYS licensed hearing aid dispenser in September of 2013. She is a member of the International Hearing Society and of the Hearing HealthCare Alliance of New York, Inc.

Kelly L. Thurber BS, HIS

Kelly Thurber began her career in 2010 as a Patient Care Coordinator and continued her education and training while working. She received her bachelor’s degree in Science/Health Services from Empire State University in 2015. Completed an apprenticeship and obtained her New York State license in Hearing Aid Dispensing in 2017. She is a member of the International Hearing Society and The New York State Hearing Healthcare Alliance and holds the office of Notary Public. Kelly is married to her husband Peter, has four grown children and five grandchildren.
