Meet Our Providers
James Slade, H.I.S.
Jim’s interest and success in the field of audiology was born out of recognition of one’s hearing needs and hearing differences. He had an early career experience in Industrial Manufacturing, frequenting automotive, stamping, and many other machining and assembly plants, where loud noise and the on-going insults to one’s hearing has left Jim with a keen personal knowledge of how jobs or life style can affect hearing loss over the course of one’s career. He began his career providing hearing help in 2002.
His long history with a variety of working populations supports his ability to relate to the hearing needs of a varied range in populations. His history in industry has aided him in honing that valued skill of problem solving. In the field of helping patients identify and perfect those nuances of hearing differences these skills serve him well. He enjoys the challenge of assisting his patients with their hearing needs and provides the adjustments that address the requirements that may be unique to that individual.
My constant companion is my 155-pound Newfoundland puppy, named Ghillie. She enjoys being around the water with me and is normally found on many of the local streams and river while flyfishing for trout. She is a certified, “water rescue dog” (WRD) who sometimes wants to save recreational swimmers not in need and “Delta Dog” (canine therapy) which often accompanies me to the office and nursing facilities.
Jim volunteers his weekends in the summer months for the “Casting for Recovery” retreat programs for breast cancer survivors where he is an instructor, Ghillie also assists on these weekend retreats. I am also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elk’s and he and Ghillie are regularly found at the Shriners Hospital in Springfield making many children happy.
I look forward to working with you to meet your hearing needs and adjust your aids to meet the specifics of your lifestyle and address your hearing loss.
